Chloe had been released on Friday and since today was the day, she was restless. She got the truck ready to go “ alright! Let’s get this party started even got the boom box! Pidge ready?” She asked as she glanced at Max.

Chloe felt as if the whimper was a sucker punch to the stomach. She hated seeing Max like that.

Saw? How did- then why didn’t..we all see em? Max..

She looked over at Pidge and nodded at their advice. Gently she went to the spot where Pidge said below Max’s collar bone and massaged it.

“ sssh..it’s ok..we got you..” she tried to calm Max down, she really couldn’t say anything because she wasn’t the one who saw it.

Interesting, I didn’t know that there were distress buttons..dammit what’s going on are they actually real?!

“ Me neither...I mean, I knew it was probably gonna make her paranoid or something but...not like this...not this bad..it’s not entirely your fault Pidge..It’s mine too..” Chloe sighed. Realizing her own mistake.

“ it’s ok I’m here, I’m here Max...focus on me. Focus on my voice, I’m real. “ Chloe murmured. She kept massaging that spot.

Joyce looked over at them and nodded silently and turned to leave.

Chloe noticed and she frowned and hugged her tighter only to rest her chin on Max’s shoulder. “ I got you..” she kept murmuring similar things. She didn’t care if people were watching or if Pidge was present...

“ no problem” Joyce called back out. “ what were you guys even doing?” She asked in concern.


Chloe kept hugging Max for as long as she needed. Protection mode was on like nobodies buisness.

Joyce walked back with the glass. “ Poor thing, I see..well, mistakes happen all the time, it’s important that we learn from them. “ her tone sympathetic towards Max.

Chloe still held on to Max and Didnt let go till she said so.

Chloe furrowed her brow “ no screw that...I should be sorry, remember what I said? Dont ever apologize..” she murmured/whispered.

Joyce sat the cup down infront of Max and sighed in sympathy. “ I’ll be on the stand by...” she said and looked back at Pidge with a reassuring expression. As if to say ‘ it’s ok, it’s not entirely your fault ‘.

Chloe immediately relaxed at that and sighed.

“ oh thank god...you had me not gonna lie. Cuz if you confirm it..I believe it. You’re the captain here so..what you say goes really. “ she admitted/whispered. “ and it’s ok promise...”

Chloe just chuckled a bit toward Them then looked back at Max. She wondered how Max hasn’t managed to snap yet with everything she’s been through...surely it’ll drive somebody mad?

....maybe she’s just too determined to not snap or something..poor kid. Huh Evil Max...that’ll be a thought- oof.

“ yeah no time travel related anything...period. Not even if it’s horror related “ she commented.

Chloe looked over at Them with curiosity.


Animals?...yeah they’re cute but..how are they a remedy?..wait, ohhh yeah nevermind. Duh.

( ok but now I kinda want dumb werewolf Chloe moments lol. Pidge be the smarter one obvi.

Wolf Chloe * barks non stop with attitude.*

Chloe just watched in amusement. She lightened her hold on Max after a bit.

“ no prob “ Chloe said only to giggle. “ maybe we should just stick with animals for now? OOH! Or people fails thats even better! “ she grinned in a mischievous manner.

Joyce had brought the groups drinks over and sat them down “ two coffees and one sugar infested drink “

Chloe just snickered.

“ pfft whatever I can be drinking monster energy that’s worse “ Chloe grumbled/ shot back.

Joyce glared a bit at Chloe but nodded at the other two “ no problem and Chloe not in the mood...” she sighed.

“ you’re never in the mood “ Chloe grumbled.

“ get what? “ Joyce asked with a bit of confusion, she heard the tail end of it.

“ oh nothing it’s just a inside joke “ Chloe said in a playful manner and shook her head.

Joyce seemed to buy it only to nod and headed off.
