Vernal looked out the window of the carrier only to look back at the mass of offenders they collected. " ok beta pray to CLU your not lying, otherwise we'll just toss you in " she looked over at Paige and awaited orders.

Paige snatched the disc off the young program's back, and her eyes widened when she saw clear signs of distress in her memories. By Flynn, she was telling the truth... but she was guilty by association..

"Technically you're still guilty by association, program."

"Please, I'm innocent! I never stole anything, they only pulled me along with them!"

Paige had a theory, and her suspicions were confirmed when she tore a hole in the upper left part of the beta's sleeve.

Another ISO.

"Vernal... care to explain what CLU does to ISOs?"

Her eyes widened ....another one?! But she was too young... Then again a job must be done. Walking a tad bit closer she grabbed the handle of her katana " CLU derezzes them... Gets rid of them.. " she looked over at Paige again and awaited what to do next. Not feeling to great about this one.. She was fine with older programs.. Not betas.

The ISO backpedaled, but she ran into the guards before she could escape.

"No! Don't do this; please!" she cried, hysterical. Her purple eyes welled with tears of terror.

"You aren't fooling anyone with this beta-like show of innocence.." Paige snarled, disc drawn. "Any last words before I let Vernal loose?"

Well...that was a lie. She was fooling someone. She wasn't liking this at all...it would've been better if the beta would have just been silent.
Her grip tightened on her katana as she waited " just shut up kid...." She half whispered with a snarl. " your not making this any easier for anyone ..." ' shut up! Stop crying.....I HATE IT!' This will also probably haunt her for a while...

(As a side note, Paige would never let this happen to a basic. She just hates ISOs because Tesler blamed the death of her friends on them-- when in reality he was the one to derezz them)
(also I'm totally not imagining this poor gal as a Tari clone-)

Was Vernal going to derezz her? Paige looked over at the lieutenant with an impatient hazel glare.

The Firewall was having trouble.. Live in peace huh? That's what she wanted . That one part of her was wanting to just go at it , but it was a beta! Yeah she did have trouble with the first beta she came across but..she was innocent... Just....ERGH! She let go of her katana .
" no. She's done nothing wrong... Can't we just take her in? As one of us? She's A beta! " she tried to reason... She might be in big trouble for this.

"ISOs are the epitome of imperfection!" Paige roared, mirroring General Tesler in her body language. "They don't deserve to exist. I shouldn't even be throwing her into the arena.. she doesn't deserve a quick death like that. I should pass her off to Pavel instead."

The blue-haired program cowered and struggled against the orange-circuited programs, but to no avail.

"Fine. If you won't derezz her, then I'll throw her in the Coliseum and give her a merciful end."

The Firewall for once flinched and backed up at the commanders explosion. She fell silent as she listened on... It stung her like when she got repurposed but worse. No! Not pavel.. He was a tad worse then the games... She didn't want her in the coliseum either.
" NO! No..... I...." She half yelled. She took hold of her katana again
" I changed m-my mind...ill do it. Your right.... " she stuttered.

The beta writhed against the other firewalls and cried out in pure terror, but couldn't break free.

She gave the beta a look that said ' sorry ' only to close her eyes and slash her katana at the iso. Not wanting to see the voxels fall... What would mara think if she saw this... For clus sake... ' I'm sorry.... For once...I'm sorry '

Her final cry of pain echoed off the walls for a moment as she was reduced to a heap of pure white cubes. Another ISO terminated. Thanks to Vernal, the Grid was one dead program closer to perfection.

Paige put a hand on the younger firewall's shoulder. "Taking a life can be difficult when it wears a familiar face.. but despite how they look, the ISOs aren't programs. They're errors.. mistakes. And while she was innocent of that one crime in particular, it would only be a matter of time before she corrupted another part of the system."

She still didn't bother looking...but...it did in a way make sense.
" I..understand...I'm sorry I didn't take orders the first time..I won't do it again I promise... " she really didn't like how angry Paige could get .
Oh man...if it was Pavel she did that with...she'd be dead... Or worse..publicly humiliated? Then dead. Why was this so hard?! Maybe she needed another repurposing.... She shouldn't be making this hard for herself.. The others made it look so simple. Maybe if the isos were just jerks instead of completely innocents ... That'd work better.

"It's hard getting yourself to look at ISOs differently than other programs; I won't lie. It.. it can be unsettling to some at first, but you get used to it after a while." Paige turned to the two remaining basics. "Now. Take these two to the armory. We'll have them tossed in with the rest of the lineup for tonight's Games."

Vernal nodded and went to round up the offenders. Releasing a held in sigh she ushered them into the armory. Taking a look herself , it reminded her of her first arrival... She would have been here if she missed the curfew mark.

The firewall took a seat near the front so she could get the best view. Though she can't help but think - why was Purgos so quiet?... Paige wasn't wrong.. She still had high suspicions of what the people were doing. She also hoped in a way Pavel was alright..it wasn't like him to not be present at all...oh well! Time to watch some chaos.

Pavel sat behind Vernal, and she blocked his view. "You in front! Get down!" He growled, the commander deserved the best treatment. He had just came in after the programs were tossed in the Games, and he saw this firewall. He snarled at her.

That caused her to jump out of her seat. At least he was present. She moved without question and moved at least five seats over and out of the way. That almost gave her a what users would call a heart attack. Looking up and over her shoulder at the commander and quickly looked back down . Feeling embarrassment quickly growing.
