(aight here we goes)

The whole thing shook Skye to her core, the fact that she'd have to come face to face with him again.

At least she wouldn't be alone this time.

She hadn't visited the MD5's headquarters in forever... honestly it was nice to see it again. Nostalgic, really.

She held Tari's hand tightly, the other occupied with Neo's carrier-- and she kept completely silent.

(i feel like skye'll lean in for a kiss or something and then
you just hear theo's battle cry as he chases the geese
so when skye opens her eyes tari's not there, she's sprinting after their chaotic son)

"Yeah. But.. man, I'm so glad people are taking steps to bring nature back to Silica City.." Skye murmured, looking at the birds that flew overhead. "I missed this sort of thing. Never got it when I worked at TAS Corp.."

"Aw.. babe.. it's not your fault.." Skye whispered. "It's nobody's fault but mine, really. I just pulled a Viktor and.. locked myself in my lab all the time." She smiled sadly. "But hey.. we get to do this now.."

She directed the smile at Tari, making eye contact.

Skye closed her eyes and leaned a bit closer, as if going in for a kiss.

But just then, Theo darted off and chased after the geese.

(cue that tt of the person commenting on the child chasing geese)

Skye's eyes snapped open and noticed the yell, watching with a shocked expression.

Theo let out a battle cry, brandishing his coconut. The geese didn't think much of it; they just sort of walked out of his path.

( wehe )

Skye lifted Neo's carrier closer to her chest, sighing. "I'd chase him down too, but.. I got you, buddy."

Theo tripped over a rut in the ground and faceplanted, letting out an "OOF".

Skye covered her mouth and tried to catch up to him and Tari.

(now for simulation stuff
don't mind me wanting to do a pinocchio style plot with him-)

Theo sat up and spat grass out of his mouth. He'd sustained a small scrape or two.

"Stupid honkers. Take that, foul beast!" he called over his shoulder, at the largest goose.

Skye knelt down and set Neo's carrier on the ground.

"You okay, Theo..?"

Skye immediately took on a concerned mother role and took Theo into her arms protectively. She looked him over, trying to assess the damage. "Did you feel anything when you fell?"

"I mean.. I scuffed up my knee I guess.." Theo mumbled.

Skye furrowed her brow. "Remember what I told you about getting hurt?"

"Not to get hurt because we don't know how much health I have in your world," Theo parroted back, in an irritated tone.

"Exactly. Because from what I've seen, you.. you take damage like we do, and.. I'm not sure why that is.. but I'm going to talk to Sheridan about it sometime."

A harsh, barking call sounded overhead as a dark bird swooped over them and into the distance.

"Sometime soon, based on his little.. crony, there. Crow-ny."

Skye breathed a heavy sigh. "Just.. stay out of trouble, okay..?" she asked him softly.

"I willlll," Theo grumbled. "Just stop treating me like a baby already.."

Skye let go of him reluctantly. "You're right. I'm just trying to look out for you, okay?"

"Yup, sure do. I know I can only respawn in real life as long as the cartridge is still in one piece," Theo drawled. "Trust me. I know all the things."

"I believe you.." Skye reassured him.

She picked Neo's carrier back up.

"Yeah, I'm okay," Theo shrugged it off and stood up.

"Let's go check out the other areas of the park, maybe?" Skye suggested. She kept a close eye on Theo once he picked up the pace.

"Yes, that was with game logic. Now he plays by the simulation's rules.." Skye explained. "It.. makes me wonder what's going to happen to him years from now. He.. doesn't exactly.. age.. but we do.. so if we leave the simulation, where does he go when he leaves? Back to the game?"

She lowered her voice so Theo didn't hear. He was already trotting off to look at something else.
