Tari nodded and stood up, keeping the hand on her head.

“ just don’t drink too much, trust me we’ve been there too. “ she advised with a grunt. She let Skye go for now, but honestly, she felt sorry for the poor owl. She’s been through enough and now this.

She took a deep breath and sighed, thinking the other Tari had stopped struggling for now and she let her hand off of her head.

“ Damn if you’ve really fucked things up this time you pest. They’ve been through too much! And you had to go and just dream of the damn sigil didn’t you?! This is all your fault!“ She hissed.

She could tell the Other Tari was hurting from the words, the Other Tari was able to tell what was going on even though she wasn’t in control. It...it was weird. But the Other Tari felt horrible for Skye and she was sorry.

“ Oh don’t pout! You know it’s true you invasive pest. “ Tari hissed.

Skye hummed, then chuckled.

"You like it when my voice gets all deep, or when my accent's thick?" she asked, trying to clarify.

She reached up and tenderly ran her fingers through Tari's hair.

Tari melted at Skye’s touch. Humming softly as her shoulders slouched.

“ Both” she murmured. She was torn between leaning her head into Skye’s hand or nuzzling her neck again. She finally made a decision and nuzzled the owls neck, making a soft huff as she did. Then slowly, ever so slowly, she began to knead, Skye’s shoulder with her meta hand.

Skye noticed and chuckled, awestruck-- as if she were a stranger to a shy cat that had just allowed her to pet it.

She beamed and continued the headscratches, closing her eyes.

"Mm, I'll take note of that..." she whispered.

Tari whimpered softly at the headscratches and nodded in response to the owl. She continued knead Skye’s shoulder as she dozed off.

Her breathing quickened low in her throat, as if...almost as if she was trying to purr.

Skye took notice of it, and beamed.

Tari had done so once or twice, many years ago. She couldn't remember exactly how long it had been, but she loved hearing it again. She'd almost forgotten.

That's it. Just unwind for me, baby...

Tari did just that, she snuggled into Skye and kept kneading her shoulder. Now finally managing to get a successful purr out.

The kneading though grew slower and slower as she drifted off to sleep. She nuzzled Skye’s neck one last time, her body feeling heavy as exhaustion took over. Warping always tired her out.

Goodnight, Tari, Skye murmured internally, still scratching the back of Tari's head. Sleep well...

She eventually began to doze off herself.

Tari’s face was completely buried and hidden in Skye’s neck, breathing softly against it as her kneading hand went limp, as a matter of fact her entire body did.

Thankfully she had no nightmares, she hasn’t had any in her 15 years worth of being together with Skye. They’ve successfully and officially stopped. She was finally at peace.

Skye's hand fell still as she slipped out of consciousness.

She slept peacefully-- peaceful sleep was contagious if Tari was experiencing it.

Tari was fully awake the next day, she had just finished cleaning. She was going through their shared closet only to stumble upon something soft as she was rummaging through the drawer for a pair of bootie socks. Her brows raised as her hand touched the soft fabric.

What on earth..?

Curiosity growing, she grabbed the object and pulled it out. She held the two items in both hands and tilted her head only to go wide eyed.

“ Love, can you come here for a moment “ Tari called out to Skye. Her voice loud as she kept studying the ears and tail.

"What's up, babe?" Skye called, still in her favourite loose plaid pyjamas. She stood on the threshold and leaned on the doorframe, then noticed what Tari held in her hands.

"Oh, um..." she eventually squeaked out. "Those... belonged to Sofia."

Tari’s eyes widened slightly.

“ Oh! “ she gasped, her face a bit pink. “ well then again it fits....she’s into cosplay so....I shouldn’t be too surprised. “ she murmured. She looked back at the cat ears and studied them again.

“ issss, it weird that I wanna put them on...?” Tari asked. She did kinda want to if she were honest.

Skye paused, taking a moment to think.

She'd look so cute in them though...

"N-no, not... not weird at all, babe," she said softly.

Tari beamed at Skye and chuckled.

“ O-Okay “ she murmured, feeling a bit shy and nervous but she did her best to remember that it was just them in the house.

She looked at the cat ears and tail for a moment more only to give in and put them on.

It took her a few minutes to get them on, and after readjusting and positioning the cat ears on her head, they were finally on.

She beamed and as she did her tail swished back and forth happily. Her ears flicked at causing her to giggle. Her eyes sparkling as she stared up at the ears.

It...it didn’t feel weird at all it, it felt...normal.

Skye's heart melted at the sight, as a smile crossed her face.

"Awwww... babe..." she chuckled, stepping closer to her. "You look so cute--"

She reached out and stroked Tari's face.

Tari snapped out of it once she felt Skye’s hand on her face, her ears seeming to perk up at the contact.

She chuckled and tilted her cheek into Skye’s hand. She rubbed her face against the hand, almost like a cat would.

She opened her mouth to let out a ‘ thank you ‘ or anything related to it, only to let out a.

“ Mrrrp!”

Skye's heart fluttered, a giddy warm feeling spreading through her chest.

Tari smiled wide at the compliment, her tail wagging back and forth happily. She kept rubbing her face on Skye’s hand only to head bonk her palm after.

Her consciousness completely went out the door at this point, ‘ cat mode ‘ was on.

Skye gently scratched Tari's jawline, fingers wandering to the back of Tari's neck, then up to her chin, and back again.

"Such a sweet baby," she chuckled, voice deepening. "You wanna snuggle...?"

Tari’s breathing quickened, seeming to purr again at the chin scratches. Her heart having warmed up a ton at the contact. She rubbed her face against Skye’s hand as if to thank her.

Then her right ear flicked at Skye’s question. Only to have her heart flutter, noticing the deep voice.

“ Mrrrp “ Tari answered, it in a agreeing sounding tone. Her tail kept wagging at a slow steady pace. Heck if they were to keep this up she was bound to just collapse on the floor.

Skye pulled Tari close, then gently pulled her into bed, curling up with her.

Heh, Sofia would squeal if she saw her like this.

"You're so cuuuuute," she crooned, still stroking Tari's face.

Tari immediately snuggled up closer to Skye, and immediately went weak at the knees at the compliment and contact.

She kept on ‘ purring ‘ and kept rubbing her cheek against Skye’s hand, her tail thwacking against the bedsheets now.

“ Mrrrp “ she said, her tone almost sounding like she was trying to say ‘ thank you ‘.

Skye chuckled and snuggled up against her, still petting her gently.

"That's a good kitty," she ventured. "Just try and unwind for me, okay...?"

She yawned.

Tari nodded, she was already relaxed enough to be able to do this. Though once she heard what Skye said she paused and looked up at her as her ears perked up.


Her heart fluttered and raced as a warmth spread across her cheeks. Her right ear flicked and her nostrils flared softly.

Her expression seemed to read ‘ what did you say? ‘ .

"That's right..." Skye soothed. "Such a good kitty."

She reached up and rubbed Tari's cat ear, beaming.

"And I love you so much."
